Claude gets Dashboards and Motion in beta
AI-generated and checked against the sources listed below.
Anthropic has put two new tools in beta in Claude: live dashboards with your data and animated explainer videos that can be saved as MP4.

What's new
On October 8, 2026, Anthropic launched two new features in Claude, both in beta. That means they are being tested and may change.
Claude Dashboards lets you ask questions in plain Danish or English and get a dashboard built, that is, a page with charts and figures that stays up to date when the connected data changes. Claude Motion turns text, charts, shapes and images into a short, animated explainer video that can be downloaded as an MP4 file.
At the same time, Claude Docs, Slides and Design have left beta and are now available on all plans, including the free one. According to Anthropic, more than 45 million documents, presentations and designs have been made in Claude.
What's clever
Dashboards can pull data from Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, Snowflake and Salesforce. Each chart is based on a query (SQL) that you can see, and it shows when the data was last updated. You can also ask Claude to explain the query. Anthropic stresses, however, that this is no guarantee that the numbers are correct, so important figures should still be checked. Dashboards can be edited by the team, sharing is controlled by the administrator, and they can be exported to PowerPoint or PDF with formatting intact. Looker, monday.com and Tableau are on the way.
Motion does not use a video model. Instead, Claude writes code for every element, text, shapes, images and timing, so you can adjust the details afterward, either yourself or by asking Claude. There are no generated people or fabricated footage. The videos can be sent on to Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Luma AI and Runway, among others, and Canva and Captions are coming later.
Cheaper or better?
The price has not been disclosed. Anthropic has not announced separate prices for the two features, and it is unclear when the beta ends. Dashboards follows the paid plans (Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise), so you need a subscription. Motion is only for Team and Enterprise, so ordinary Pro and Max users are left out.
Both features are turned off by default and must be enabled by the organization's administrator in the settings for Artifacts. No measurements have been published of how accurate the tools are or how many people use them, and we have not found a direct comparison with competitors. Dashboards does, however, move into the same territory as BI tools like Tableau and Power BI. The advantage is that you can build a dashboard by writing what you want to see. Whether Denmark and the EU are included from the start has not been disclosed.
What it's good for
Dashboards suits teams that have data in a data warehouse or Salesforce and want to track sales, customer numbers or key figures without waiting for an analyst. It can save time on the ongoing weekly overview.
Motion is good for short internal videos where you want to explain a report, a process or a presentation with motion instead of static slides. Because everything is editable, it is suited to material that needs to be revised and reused often, such as monthly summaries for management.
