HR and payroll system Dayforce has unveiled a new platform with AI agents and a connection to Anthropic's Claude. Parts of it are in testing, while others are not expected until 2027.

Software company Dayforce, which makes HR and payroll systems, presented a new platform built around AI agents on October 27, 2026. The announcement came at the company's customer conference, Dayforce Discover 2026. An AI agent is a program that can carry out tasks on its own within set boundaries.
Ask about payroll and HR in Claude
One of the announcements is a so-called connector that links Dayforce with Anthropic's AI assistant Claude. It is built on the Model Context Protocol, a technical standard that lets AI tools pull data from other systems. The connector is in beta, and broad availability is expected in 2027.
According to Futurum Group, users in Claude can ask questions about HR, payroll, time, talent and planning data. The connector respects Dayforce's existing access permissions, and changes to employee data require human approval. This means the AI cannot edit information on its own without a person signing off.
Chief product and technology officer Jake Varghese says insight and action in this area should meet people in the systems they already work in.
Three parts of the platform
The platform consists of Ask Dayforce, a conversational entry point across the entire product, and Dayforce AI Agents, specialized tools, with hundreds planned across the employee lifecycle. In addition, there are Dayforce Bots, AI assistants that customers create themselves for repetitive tasks.
Dayforce Deploy is an AI-based implementation service, with selected features already available. It uses agentic AI to map requirements, build configurations, design and run tests, and maintain the platform as requirements change.
Build your own apps, but not until 2027
Dayforce Build is meant to create apps, bots and documents from plain-language descriptions and is model agnostic, meaning it is not tied to any one AI model. It launches in 2027. Founder and CEO David Ossip says that if you can describe what the business needs, you can build it.
According to Futurum, apps from Build run in an isolated sandbox with the platform's permissions, audit trails and approval workflows. Futurum's research director Keith Kirkpatrick assesses that Build is the most important announcement from the conference, because customers and partners can extend the platform instead of building elsewhere.
Dayforce Marketplace, for installing apps and bots, is also planned for 2027. Aflac, Checkr, Deloitte, Emburse, Guusto, PwC and WorkBright are building for it. Pricing has not been disclosed.
A Strategic Workforce Planning agent is planned for the first quarter of 2027. It is meant to model the division of work between humans and AI and show headcount and AI token costs.
