Xero has launched an integration that lets users pull live accounting figures into Gemini conversations. According to Xero, it is the first financial management platform with a connected app for Gemini, while an automatically generated investor analysis from Simply Wall St concludes that the integration does not by itself solve the company's challenges.

Xero, which makes accounting software for businesses, announced an integration with Google's AI assistant Gemini on October 14, 2026. Users can pull live financial data from Xero directly into a conversation with Gemini without switching apps.
According to Xero, it is the first financial management platform to launch a connected app for Gemini. That is Xero's own claim.
What can it do?
According to CFOtech Asia, the integration runs on Xero's agentic platform JAX, and users' data is continuously and securely synced with Xero. Users can retrieve profit and loss, cash flow, balance sheet, invoices and bills, as well as information about customers and suppliers. Data can be displayed as charts, for example net profit and the breakdown of overdue receivables.
The integration can also find overdue invoices and bills, draft invoice summaries and keep track of recurring subscriptions. Any action that changes financial data requires the user's explicit confirmation.
Accountants and bookkeepers can switch between client organizations while using the integrations. Access is granted to subscribers on eligible plans. Which plans and markets are covered is not stated in the sources.
Data and upcoming feature
Xero says financial information is used only within the individual user's session and is not used to train Gemini models.
As an upcoming feature, Xero mentions Gemini Tasks, which is meant to provide time-based workflows for routine tasks. Here too, changes to data will still require user confirmation.
Xero already has integrations with Microsoft 365, Claude and ChatGPT. According to CFOtech Asia, Xero has 5 million users in more than 180 countries. Diya Jolly, Xero's chief product and technology officer, calls the launch another important milestone in the effort to remove friction from operations.
Investor analysis comes with caveats
An automatically generated investor analysis from Simply Wall St on Yahoo Finance positions Xero as a "financial operating system" for small businesses and advisers. At the same time, the analysis concludes that the integration does not by itself solve slower subscriber growth, challenges with new pricing models or costs for specialized labor. According to the analysis, success depends on usage and earnings.
The analysis estimates a fair value of 121.84 Australian dollars per share, implying a 105 percent share price increase. This is based on assumptions that include revenue of NZ$5.2 billion and profit of NZ$611.1 million in 2029. It is not an independent valuation. It is also unclear whether and how the integration generates additional revenue for Xero.
