ChatGPT Health can now pull patient data directly from Epic
AI-generated and checked against the sources listed below.
ChatGPT Health can now connect to the Epic medical records system, so clinicians can have AI summarize records and patient history. Access is read-only, so the AI can read along but cannot change anything.

OpenAI has built an integration between ChatGPT Health and Epic, one of the major medical records systems in healthcare, which is also used in some places in Denmark.
Clinicians can now import patient data directly into ChatGPT Health and get help summarizing records, getting an overview of patient history and finding relevant medical research.
Access is read-only. The AI can read and help with the overview but cannot edit the record itself. It is an attempt to get the benefits of AI without compromising patient safety.
For most Danes, nothing changes tomorrow. But if you work in healthcare or in an IT department that uses Epic as its records system, it is worth watching whether the integration comes to Danish installations, and which guidelines would accompany it.
