OpusClip has launched Motion Studio, which can make finished video clips from images, video and a short description, without you having to know editing programs like After Effects.

The video tool OpusClip, known for cutting long videos into short clips for social media, has launched a new feature called Motion Studio.

With Motion Studio, you can make so-called B-roll, meaning the extra shots and clips used to support a video, as well as other kinds of brand videos. Previously, this required either a program like After Effects, a freelance editor or the ability to write good AI prompts, meaning instructions to an AI model.

Instead, you can now add up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio files as references. Then you choose which AI video model you want to use, as well as style, length, aspect ratio and whether there should be sound. You then describe your idea in plain language, see a plan for the different shots, called a Shot Plan, and press generate. So you don't need to know about timelines or keyframes, the points that control movement in an animation, which are otherwise standard tools in classic video editing.

The feature is available to all OpusClip users, regardless of subscription, according to the company's own changelog.

For a Danish company or employee making content for Instagram, LinkedIn or TikTok, this means you can make more professional-looking background clips and product videos without having to hire a designer or learn an entirely new program.

It's worth remembering, though, that automatically generated B-roll doesn't necessarily replace carefully planned shots, for example when a video needs to show very specific products or details. Here, it may still be necessary to style the final details yourself before the clip is fully ready to use.

What it means for you

If you make content for social media, you can now create background clips and product videos yourself without a designer or After Effects. Upload images and video, describe the idea in plain language, and let the AI generate the clip. The feature is available to all OpusClip users, regardless of subscription, so you can try it right away. If the video needs to show very specific details or products, though, you should still expect to do the final polishing yourself.
