Google lets its AI connect to Salesforce and HubSpot

Google has updated its AI assistant Gemini in Workspace so that it can both remember a team's routines and pull data directly from other popular work tools. The IT department should check the settings before employees use it.

In September 2026, Google released two updates to its AI assistant Gemini, which is built into Google's office programs such as Gmail, Docs and Sheets, collectively known as Google Workspace. Both updates are about making the AI a fixed part of everyday work, rather than something you only consult now and then.
Fixed recipes for the AI
The first new feature is called skills. A skill can be seen as a kind of recipe that tells the AI how a particular task should always be done at your company. That could be, for example, how to check an invoice, which template a contract should follow, or what tone emails should be written in. The recipes are built in Google Docs, so colleagues can comment on and edit them together. Afterward, you can call up a skill by typing @ and its name when working in the Gemini panel in Gmail, Docs, Slides, Drive or the Chat program.
Google says central management is on the way, so the IT department can approve and distribute specific skills to different departments. The feature builds on a tool called Workspace Studio, which Google launched in December 2025. However, it's available only to customers enrolled in a test program called Gemini Beta, and it applies to most paid Business and Enterprise subscriptions as well as several education editions. Users under 18 can't use the feature. There's no extra cost beyond the regular Gemini subscription.
Access to seven work tools
The second update, announced on September 15, gives Gemini direct access to seven popular work tools from other companies: Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, Monday, QuickBooks, Mailchimp and Atlassian Rovo. It works via a technical standard called Model Context Protocol, which allows Gemini to fetch and use data from those programs directly inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive or Chat, without having to switch tabs or download files manually.
This access to other programs is turned on by default for everyone who has Gemini on most Business and Enterprise subscriptions, as well as certain education editions and the consumer subscriptions Google AI Pro and Ultra. Google stresses, however, that a company's IT administrator can turn off the access or control who may use it through Google's admin console. The feature is available now for all types of Workspace domains.
Google doesn't specifically say whether or when the features will come to Denmark or the rest of the EU. Since these are global subscriptions, though, nothing in the material suggests any particular geographic restriction. Because access to the other programs is turned on by default, the most important point for Danish companies is probably that the IT department should review the settings before employees really start using the features.
What it means for you
If you already use Salesforce, HubSpot or one of the other tools together with Gemini, you'll soon be able to pull data from them directly in Gmail or Docs without switching tabs. If you're a manager or work in the IT department, you should check your settings now, since access is turned on by default. If you want to create fixed recipes for the AI for recurring tasks, it requires enrolling in Google's test program Gemini Beta. Ordinary employees can safely wait until the IT department has reviewed the permissions.
